Merrimack County Conservation District (MCCD) coordinates gleaning activities throughout Merrimack County to bring fresh, local foods to those in need. The Merrimack County Conservation District works in partnership with the USDA Natural Resource Conservation Service  to help landowners and users in Merrimack County manage their soil, water, forest, and other natural resources.  From farm equipment rental to ensuring SNAP can be used at farmer’s Markets, workshops, and scholarships, there is a lot going on at MCCD.  MCCD’s Gleaning Coordinator and volunteers harvest and deliver rescued produce to local charitable organizations. We establish connections with food pantries, soup kitchens, homeless shelters, and schools throughout Merrimack County to ensure that food insecure residents of all ages have easier access to fresh, nutrient-dense food options.
